My name is Joe Boswell and I have had a keen interest in horticulture ever since I was a child. My mum says you couldn’t get me out of the mud or stop me from bringing home every nut, berry, creature or insect found on my adventures. I grew up on a farm in Northamptonshire and this was where my love for everything outdoors was nurtured. Since leaving school in 1994 I have pursued many avenues within the horticultural industry and I have gained a wealth of experience along the way.
I graduated with distinction from both Moulton College, Northants in 1997 (with a Diploma in Horticulture), and Writtle College in Essex in 2001 – with a Higher National Diploma in Garden Design.
I have worked for both commercial and domestic landscapers, with growers and nurseries and I’ve also been involved with maintaining the grounds of a large Land Based Industries College in Northamptonshire. All of these experiences have been a natural progression towards the position I’m now in; an independent garden designer.
I have always had a keen sense and appreciation for all things designed, be it a building, an item of clothing or a complete landscape. With an understanding of design and fashion, a passion for the outdoors and a background in horticulture, it seemed only natural to blend these personal interests and develop a career as a Landscape and Garden Designer.
